How We Can Help

We work together with older people to help get the high quality services you need, get your voice heard, and make our Island a great place to grow old.

Helping you make informed choices

Since we first established Age Concern Isle of Man in 1992 we have been supporting people aged 50 plus with our free confidential Information service.

We have a wealth of experience and information relating to topics affecting older people and we can also provide information and contacts for specialist services around the Island.

Our service is funded entirely from charitable donations, is independent and completely confidential.

As well as providing support for individuals we raise important issues into the wider community to make your voice heard.

For advice and information, you can also contact us on 631740 or email info@ageconcern.im or call into our shops in Port Erin or Ramsey.

Gadget Clinics

Living on an Island we know the delights and benefits of our vibrant community life. We also know the challenges of staying in touch with family and friends who live “across”. The digital revolution has changed how we communicate bringing huge benefits to our lives. Lots of people now take the internet for granted, but for many people in later life it’s out of reach.

At Age Concern Isle of Man we are working to make those opportunities available for everyone.

Since 2009 our lifelong learning activities have changed lives, helping older people to get online and benefit from the new world of computers, tablets, smartphones and the internet.

Aged 50+ do you need help to overcome a problem with a gadget, with a software upgrade or not sure how to get started with a new gadget?

We are running regular one-to-one clinics, where you can get half an hour of individual help to solve your gadget problem. Book a slot, bring along your mobile phone, tablet, laptop or iPad.

You will get personalised help and time to ask questions and practice new skills.

Our activities can only happen thanks to charitable donations, fundraising, and the support of volunteers and our corporate partners.

No one should be lonely when family and friends are so close over the internet. No one should be excluded from learning new things or joining in community life because they cannot access a computer or WiFi.
Together we can make sure no one is left behind.

Good food, good company

Our lunch clubs are a great way to get out and make friends in your local community. We currently run a number of clubs, open to anyone aged over 50, which meet each week in the south of the Island and monthly in Douglas.

We always welcome new members so come along and join in, make new friends, catch up with the “skeet” and enjoy yourself.
