It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Christopher Stewart Barr, beloved husband of John Artil, on Saturday 21 February 2026 in Douglas, Isle of Man.

Christopher was a deeply private person who asked that his passing be marked quietly and without public fanfare. His family and those who cared for him ask that his wishes continue to be respected. A private funeral has already taken place in accordance with his instructions.

Age Concern Isle of Man, Chris was a valued member of our board for many years. His guidance, advice and support were invaluable to us as a charity, he was a leading light and was truly a one-off.

Christopher's generosity, energy and commitment to those around him leave a legacy that will endure. He is greatly missed.
